Eligibility Criteria for Hall of Flame Admission

To ensure the highest standards of integrity and authenticity within the Halls of Flame, the following formal guidelines are established for the submission and exhibition of artworks:

  1. Steward Inclusion: Artworks may be submitted with or without the depiction of a steward. The presence or absence of a steward in the piece is permissible and left to the discretion of the artist.
  2. Heifer Presence Requirement: Each artwork must be completed with the heifer present and involved in the creation process from one year prior to the day of sacrifice up until the Sacrifice Day itself.
  3. Artist Licensing: All artists submitting works must hold a current and valid license. This license confirms the artist’s qualification and permission to create and submit artworks under the auspices of The Sacred Order of the Red Heifer.
  4. Art Medium Specifications: All art mediums are acceptable for submission. However, each artwork must include the following inscriptions: the name of the heifer, the name of the steward (if depicted), the location of the sacrifice, and the year of the sacrifice. These details must be clearly and permanently included in the artwork.
  5. Acceptance of Heifers: Both blemished and unblemished heifers are eligible for depiction and consideration in submitted artworks, provided the sacrifice is authorized by The Sacred Order of the Red Heifer. For additional information regarding authorized sacrifices, artists should refer to “The Sacred Order of the Red Heifer Ritual.”
  6. Medium Consistency with Historical Accuracy: To maintain historical integrity, any medium used must be consistent with the time period of the heifer’s sacrifice. Artworks created using a medium not available or invented during the time period of the depicted sacrifice (e.g., using photography prior to the invention of film) will be considered forgeries. Artists found to be submitting forgeries will face the forfeiture of their artistic license.

These rules are designed to uphold the prestige and sanctity of the Halls of Flame, ensuring that all artworks and their creation processes respect the historical and cultural significance of the depicted sacrifices.
